Kremlin Suggests That Halting US Military Aid Could Prompt Peace Talks in Kyiv
A White House official has confirmed the suspension of U.S. assistance to Kyiv.
The halt in U.S. military aid to Ukraine is expected to prompt peace talks between Kyiv and Russia, according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov on March 4.
An official from the White House informed The Epoch Times that the United States has indeed put a pause on military aid to Ukraine.
Stating that President Donald Trump’s focus is on peace, the White House official mentioned, “We are pausing and assessing our aid to Ukraine to ensure it aids in resolving the conflict.”
Peskov remarked that the United States has been a significant supplier in the conflict thus far.
“This decision could motivate the Kyiv regime to engage in the peace process,” Peskov said. “Ceasing these supplies by the United States could be a major step towards peace.”
He further expressed Moscow’s approval of Trump’s recent statements indicating a desire to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
