Liberal Democrats vow to deliver ‘innovative, comprehensive, and meticulously budgeted’ personal care proposal
The Liberal Democrats have vowed to expand the National Health Service into the realm of personal care, funded by increased taxes on banks and the wealthiest individuals.
The Liberal Democrats unveiled their election manifesto, led by Sir Ed Davey, promising to introduce “free personal care” for elderly and disabled individuals.
He emphasized, “After enduring years of Conservative neglect and disarray, we acknowledge the immense challenge at hand. Our manifesto tackles this head-on.”
“We present a comprehensive, ambitious, and meticulously budgeted strategy to address the healthcare crisis comprehensively. This is a manifesto designed to preserve the NHS,” Sir Ed added.
The party outlined that the costs for free personal care would be covered by raising taxes on banks and closing loopholes utilized by the affluent and corporations.
The Lib Dems also committed to ensuring access to a GP within seven days, enhancing NHS dental services, and improving mental health provisions.
The 114-page manifesto includes pledges to enhance water industry regulations, address sewage pollution, and establish a “Fair Deal.” The party vows to “end the sewage scandal” by transforming water companies, among other measures outlined in the manifesto.
