Man from Ontario faces charges for making threats against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in online video
Yet another individual has been taken into custody for issuing threats against Prime Minister Justin Trudeau via the internet.
Law enforcement officials reported that a man posted menacing threats towards Trudeau, the police force, and security personnel who might intervene with his intentions in an online video.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) carried out the arrest in collaboration with the York Regional Police in Ontario.
Dawid Zalewski, aged 33, has been charged with two counts of making threats.
This incident follows the recent arrest of two individuals from Alberta who were accused of directing death threats at the prime minister.
In July, the RCMP revealed that these men had posted threats to harm Trudeau and other political figures on X and YouTube.
“Various forms of threats to our national security exist, and Canada is not exempt,” stated the RCMP in a press release on Wednesday.
“We recognize the heightened security concerns surrounding public officials and the risks this poses to all Canadians. Our top priority has always been and will continue to be the safety and protection of Canadians.”
