Maximizing Your Experience at Nova Scotia’s Apple Blossom Festival
If you have a passion for history and enjoy the delightful fragrance of apple blossoms, then you shouldn’t miss the 90th annual Annapolis Valley Apple Blossom Festival in Kentville happening this weekend.
The festival kicks off on May 29th and continues until June 3 in the charming town of Kentville, Nova Scotia.
This unique five-day event offers a wide range of activities for both tourists and locals, spread throughout the valley. Here’s a glimpse of some of the top activities at this year’s Apple Blossom Festival.
The Highlights
The most anticipated events of the festival are scheduled for Friday, May 31, Saturday, June 1, and Sunday, June 2.
On Friday night, there will be fireworks starting at dusk at Memorial Park in Kentville, followed by the Blossom Bash from 7–10 p.m.
Saturday will feature two parades, a children’s carnival at the downtown square, and the main parade at 1 p.m. concluding at Memorial Park. Additionally, there will be a Carnival for Kids at Centre Square from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Glow Bingo at the firehall from 6–8 p.m., and a licensed ’90s dance from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. at the Louis Miller Centre in New Minas, just an eight-minute drive from Kentville.
On Sunday, car enthusiasts can visit Centreville for the Annual Apple Blossom Car Show and the Northville Farm Heritage Tractor Pull starting at 10 a.m. Those looking for a good meal can head to Woodville for the town’s annual chicken barbecue. Both towns are a short distance away from Kentville.
Small Events
For those seeking thrills, the Ghost Tour on May 30 starts at the Kentville Town Clock at 7:45 p.m. The evening also includes a food truck party at the Louis Miller Centre in New Minas with over 20 food vendors to tantalize your taste buds.

The Valley Drive-In will be open during the weekend for those interested in an outdoor movie experience. The show starts at dusk each night with two films shown on the big screen in Cambridge. The first feature starts at 9:15 p.m. followed by the second feature around 11:15 p.m.
