Metal pieces found in products prompt recall of multiple bread brands
A recall has been issued for several brands of bread in three provinces after metal fragments were discovered in some of the products.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is recalling eight brands of white, brown, and multigrain breads as well as hotdog and hamburger buns sold in Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
A total of 37 products from Country Harvest, Deli World, D’Italiano, Giant Value, Great Value, No Name, President’s Choice, and Wonder have been recalled.
Wonderbrands said it immediately halted all use of the contaminated salt and initiated the removal of all potentially affected products from the market.
“We have restocked all stores with new products made using salt from an alternate supplier,” Wonderbrands said. “The products currently available in stores are safe for consumption.”
