Michael Douglas Visits Southern Israel in Show of Solidarity

JERUSALEM—Actor Michael Douglas visited an Israeli kibbutz that suffered in the Oct. 7 Hamas attack, which led to Israel’s conflict with the Islamic militant group.

During his visit to Kibbutz Be’eri, Douglas met with members and saw the destruction caused by the attack. Be’eri was one of the most severely impacted communities, with around 100 casualties and 30 people being held hostage.

He expressed his sympathy for the families of the hostages and visited the site where a music event resulted in the deaths of over 300 individuals.

Additionally, Douglas met with Israel’s president, Isaac Herzog, who presented him with an Israeli dog tag necklace and a yellow ribbon pin as symbols of solidarity with the hostages still held by Hamas.

“It’s a very challenging period. The trauma from this event is profound,” Douglas remarked, hoping for the swift release of the hostages.

He also criticized pro-Palestinian demonstrators on American college campuses, alleging that many have been influenced by propaganda.
