Multiple Russian Tourists Perish in Tragic Mini-Submarine Accident at Red Sea Resort
The Russian Embassy in Cairo has reported that four individuals have lost their lives and the status of multiple tourists is currently being confirmed.
A tragic incident occurred near the Red Sea resort of Hurghada on Friday, where a tourist mini-submarine, known as a bathoscope, sank, resulting in the deaths of at least four Russian citizens.
The embassy shared, “Most of the passengers have been safely rescued and are currently receiving care at hotels and hospitals in Hurghada. Unfortunately, four individuals have lost their lives. The situation of other tourists is still being confirmed.”
According to the embassy, the bathoscope was conducting a routine underwater excursion to a nearby coral reef.
“There were a total of 45 tourists on board, including minors, all of whom are Russian citizens and clients of the Biblio Globus company,” the statement confirmed.
