Murder Victim’s Social Media Accounts Exploited by Drug Dealer to Monitor His Whereabouts
Two men are currently on trial for the murder of music manager Robert ‘Fox’ Powell, who was fatally shot outside a party in rural Essex in June 2020.
During the trial at Woolwich, it was revealed that a drug dealer used “spotters” and monitored the social media activity of the victim, a music manager, leading up to his death. Nana Oppong, 43, and Israar Shah, 39, are facing charges related to the murder of Robert “Fox” Powell, who was killed in Roydon, Essex in June 2020. Mr. Oppong denies the allegations of planning the murder using EncroChat encrypted devices and burner phones.
Both defendants have pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Mr. Oppong has also denied wounding with intent and possession of a prohibited weapon. The prosecution mentioned a third individual, Temitope Adeyinka, known as “Limo,” who is believed to have been involved in the murder but is currently evading authorities.
