NATO Allies Describe China as a Key Supporter in Russia’s Conflict with Ukraine
According to NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, China’s supplies have enabled Russia to develop missiles, bombs, and aircraft.
In a joint statement, NATO allies strongly criticized China, labeling the communist regime as a crucial supporter of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
NATO’s 32 member states signed a joint communique, emphasizing China’s role in enabling Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. This marks a shift in focus for the transatlantic alliance, originally established to counter the spread of communist ideology from the Soviet Union.
The declaration also warns that China’s involvement in supporting Russia’s war efforts will have negative repercussions on its interests and reputation, hinting at potential consequences for the CCP.
“China’s provision of dual-use materials and support to Russia’s defense sector poses a threat and must be halted,” the declaration states.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg highlighted that this is the first time all NATO allies have collectively addressed China’s role so clearly, emphasizing the importance of holding China accountable for aiding Russia in developing weapons used in the conflict.
The statement also underscores the importance of ongoing monitoring and active engagement to counteract the alliance between Russia and China, with a collective commitment among NATO member states to address and mitigate this growing partnership’s influence.
