Next week, French President Emmanuel Macron will be visiting Ottawa and Montreal.
French President Emmanuel Macron is set to visit Canada next week, following the cancellation of his planned trip in July due to political unrest in France.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced today that Macron will be in Canada on Wednesday and Thursday after attending the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
Trudeau will greet Macron in Ottawa on Wednesday, where they will discuss collaborations on geopolitical matters, including continued support for Ukraine.
They will also address ways to enhance responses to emerging threats like disinformation.
While in Montreal, Trudeau plans to showcase the city’s artificial intelligence sector as both countries reaffirm their dedication to responsible use of AI.
The leaders will also touch on promoting the French language in preparation for the upcoming Francophonie summit in France next month.
