NSW Gears Up for Major Train and Nurse Strikes, Apologizes Deeply

Chris Minns expressed his deep regret to those impacted by the escalating industrial action in New South Wales (NSW), as essential workers continue to demand significant pay raises.
The NSW premier has not yet come to an agreement with nurses and midwives, who are planning a 24-hour work stoppage on Nov. 13 following unsuccessful negotiations over the past four weeks.
The NSW Nurses and Midwives Association stated that they had no other option but to take action as the government remained firm on its initial offer.
Union secretary Shaye Candish remarked that members were feeling “extremely frustrated and disheartened.”
“They have been patiently waiting for improved pay outcomes, dealing with difficult working conditions, trying to manage their finances during a cost-of-living crisis, and now they feel terribly disappointed,” she explained.
