Pauline Hanson Set to Defend Herself in Hate Speech Lawsuit

One Nation leader Pauline Hanson is facing a lawsuit for racial discrimination from Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi.

Senator Pauline Hanson will be called to testify in court to explain why a social media post targeting a female Muslim senator was not racist.

The Federal Court is hearing allegations of racial discrimination against Senator Hanson by NSW Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi.

In response to the Greens deputy leader’s comments about Queen Elizabeth II, Senator Hanson told her to “pack [her] bags and go back to Pakistan.”

Senator Hanson’s lawyer argued that the comments were meant to criticize the senator’s words and not her race, color, or ethnicity.

Expert witnesses will also provide evidence on the harm of racism and the history of phrases like “Go back to where you came from.”
