Photographic Highlights: May Day Protest, Syrian Sandstorm, and Celtic Traditional Dance

On May 1, 2025, participants engaged in a traditional English May Day procession traveling from Deptford to Greenwich and back in London. This folk custom, which dates back to the 18th century, features Jack in the Green, a character adorned with green foliage and flowers that forms an upright frame, resembling a walking tree. Also referred to as Fowler’s Troop, this tradition is deeply rooted in springtime celebrations.
