Another stabbing incident has occurred in Australia, with police still on the hunt for the suspect.

This follows a series of stabbing attacks that rocked the country in the past two weeks.

On the afternoon of April 21, police were called to Highpoint Shopping Centre in Maribyrnong, Melbourne, to respond to an incident that involved two males.

According to witnesses, two young men got into a physical brawl in front of a Korean restaurant at the shopping centre at around 2:30 p.m.

As the brawl escalated, one man allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the other in the upper body, causing him to suffer bleeding in the stomach.

The alleged culprit then fled the scene before the police arrived.

Meanwhile, the suspect was still on the run.

At present, the police are investigating the incident and urge people who witnessed or have video footage of the incident to come forward.

The incident comes as Australians are still coping with the aftermath of two stabbing attacks that occurred in the past two weeks.

On April 13, a 40-year-old man with a history of mental illness went on a stabbing spree at a Westfield shopping centre at Bondi Junction, causing six deaths and a dozen injuries.

As of April 22, five victims are still hospitalised but in stable condition.

On April 15, a 16-year-old boy who had recently converted to Islam allegedly stabbed an Assyrian bishop multiple times during a livestream service at a Western Sydney church.

The incident sparked a riot, with a crowd of hundreds from the local community gathering outside the church, chanting and throwing bricks at police.

The teenager has been charged with terrorism offences, while authorities have charged another three alleged rioters.
The church stabbing raised concerns about social cohesion in Australia, prompting Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to defend multiculturalism.
