Provincewide Operation Results in Arrest of 40 ‘High Risk’ Sex Offenders by Quebec Police

Quebec provincial police have reported the arrest of 40 sex offenders in a coordinated operation involving various police forces across the province.

The operation specifically targeted individuals deemed at a high risk of reoffending.

Law enforcement officers focused on offenders who had breached court-ordered conditions and those with outstanding arrest warrants.

They discovered numerous individuals who had failed to comply with the requirement to register with the national sex offender registry.

Commencing on April 2, the operation engaged 24 municipal police forces, including those of Montreal and Quebec City.

Provincial police Captain Steve Cadieux emphasized the significance of collaboration between police forces, prosecutors, and corrections services in this operation.
