Quebec City Daycare Worker Charged with Second-Degree Murder in Child’s Death
The Crown has announced that two individuals have been charged in connection with the tragic death of a 14-month-old girl at a home daycare in Quebec City last month.
Guenuite Kiwangala Mubwaka, aged 25, was charged with second-degree murder in the toddler’s death in Quebec City’s Beauport borough on April 3.
On the same day, Josaphat Mayuba Ndele, aged 30, was also charged as an accessory after the fact to murder.
Last week, Quebec City police revealed that both suspects had been arrested in Montreal. The woman was initially charged with assault, and both were charged with violating conditions by leaving the Quebec City area.
The authorities were alerted on March 21 regarding an unconscious child at a residence that was later identified as a daycare facility.
Emergency responders tried to revive the child, but unfortunately, she passed away a few hours later at the hospital.
