Quebec Man Arrested by RCMP for Alleged Anti-Semitic Hate Speech on Social Media
The RCMP have apprehended an individual for alleged hate speech that was posted on social media platforms Telegram and X.
According to a statement released today by the federal police force, the Integrated National Security Enforcement Team conducted an investigation on the man from Rivière-du-Loup, Que., located approximately 400 kilometers northeast of Montreal.
Authorities state that he is being charged with the deliberate promotion of hatred and antisemitism.
Although the man was previously arrested in February for similar offenses and was released under certain conditions, officials claim that he persisted in posting online.
An inquiry revealed that numerous hateful comments targeting Jewish communities and sexual minorities were posted in recent months.
The RCMP indicates that some of the offenses occurred when the suspect was a minor, rendering them unable to disclose his identity.
