Sassy Cow Interrupts Wedding Ceremony with Hilarious Objection

When wedding guests were asked if they objected to the union of a young couple, one unexpected attendee spoke up—loudly.

A cow had wandered into the frame at Amy and Harry Millard’s outdoor summer ceremony in rural Somerset, England, wasting no time letting the collected party know its thoughts on the matter. The vocal cow in the adjacent field “mooed,” not once but twice, after the marriage celebrant put her question to the guests.

“I just couldn’t help but laugh,” the bride told The Epoch Times. “I just found it so funny because of the timing of it.”

The groom added: “It was quite a nice tension breaker because everyone laughed. It helped us be more relaxed.”

“In order to proceed I must now ask if any person here present…,” the officiant says in the video before the cow speaks up.

After the ensuing laughter died down, she tried again, stating: “If any person here present knows of any lawful impediment …”—and another loud “moo” was let out.

Mr. Millard, who is 28 and a college teacher, and Mrs. Millard, 26, a trainee solicitor, chose Crowcombe Court, a large stately house in Somerset’s Quantock Hills, as the venue for their special day. The two met nine years ago while working at the same McDonald’s, later going out on a double date with some mutual friends. They stayed together during their following university studies, and Mr. Millard proposed in 2021.

Getting married at Crowcombe Court was fitting, they said, because both used to visit the Quantock Hills as children, and they still like to go walking there, close to the house.

For their June wedding, the weather was “absolutely perfect” for themselves and their 80 guests, some of whom came from different parts of the UK and France. Over Christmas, the newlyweds went on a Caribbean cruise for their honeymoon.

The couple said there were many wedding day highlights, but undoubtedly some of their best photos and video footage came from the laughter prompted by the noisy farm animal.

“It makes it even more memorable,” Mr. Millard said, adding that their registrar had never experienced such a thing, and it would definitely make her remember their wedding.

After the ceremony, the couple’s photographer shared the cow video on Instagram, where it quickly drew attention.

“Some people at work had seen it online, but hadn’t actually realized it was me,” Mrs. Millard said.

“You can plan your wedding to an absolute tee, and something unexpected will probably still happen, but it doesn’t matter.”
