School Grieves Loss of Family in Plane Crash, Remembering Their Positive Energy
A tragic incident has struck a private school north of Toronto, leading to expressions of deep sadness and mourning. The school is grieving the loss of a family of five who perished in a plane crash in Nashville.
The victims, 43-year-old Victor Dotsenko, his 39-year-old wife Rimma Dotsenko, and their three children – 12-year-old David, 10-year-old Adam, and seven-year-old Emma – lost their lives on Mar 4 as their single-engine plane crashed near a highway. The family resided in King Township, approximately 50 km north of Toronto.
UMCA Rich Tree Academy, where the family had been integral members for years, is deeply affected by their tragic passing. The school fondly remembers David, Adam, and Emma for their vibrant presence and positive interactions with peers and educators.
The parents, who were closely connected to the school community, will be greatly missed, says the academy.
The mayor of King City has described the deaths as a heartbreaking loss for the closely-knit community. Victor Dotsenko, the pilot, had communicated to air traffic controllers about the engine failure before the crash occurred.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada has dispatched a liaison to support the crash investigation conducted by U.S. authorities.
