Search for Missing Mountaineers in Squamish, BC Hindered by Weather

A spokesperson for Squamish Search and Rescue in British Columbia has reported that the area where three climbers have been missing since May 31 is currently covered in clouds and moisture, making it difficult to locate them.

Christy Allan mentioned that rescue teams were ready in the nearby community, approximately 65 kilometers north of Vancouver, awaiting better weather conditions to proceed with the search operation.

The rescue mission would involve both helicopter and ground crews, although the risk of avalanches is a concern.

Ms. Allan confirmed that the missing climbers were last seen on Atwell Peak on the southern side of Mount Garibaldi on Friday morning.

She described the terrain as extremely intricate and isolated.

The individuals who are missing have not been identified yet.
