TD Introduces New Global Chief for Financial Crime Risk Management

TD Bank Group announces the appointment of Jacqueline Sanjuas as the global head of financial crime risk management.

In a press release, the bank states that Sanjuas, who joined the bank a year ago, will also continue to serve as the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act officer.

Sanjuas will be taking over from Herb Mazariegos, the senior vice president of financial crime risk management, who is stepping down from the position.

TD recently made changes to its board and accelerated the process of appointing a new chief executive to address the repercussions of its anti-money laundering deficiencies in the United States.

Back in October, the bank agreed to pay fines exceeding $4.23 billion after pleading guilty to various charges in the U.S. related to its anti-money laundering program.

Raymond Chun is set to assume the CEO role from Bharat Masrani on Feb. 1.
