Tenacious D Apologizes for Joke About Trump Assassination Attempt
American actor and comedian Jack Black stated that the band’s future is currently on hold.
The Tenacious D tour has been canceled due to a controversial comment made by a band member regarding the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.
During a comedy rock concert in Sydney, U.S. musician and band member Kyle Gass made a statement after actor Jack Black asked him to make a wish, resulting in the tour’s cancellation.
Responding to the incident, Mr. Black shared on Instagram, “I was blindsided by what was said at the show on Sunday. I would never condone hate speech or encourage political violence in any form… After much reflection, I no longer feel it is appropriate to continue the Tenacious D tour, and all future creative plans are on hold. I am grateful to the fans for their support and understanding.”
The musical-comedian duo Tenacious D had scheduled concerts in Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland, and Wellington.
United Australia Party Senator for Victoria Ralph Babet condemned the comments and called for Tenacious D to be removed from the country.
