Texas Governor Honors Hockey Bet with Alberta Premier by Enjoying ‘Top-Quality Canadian Steak’
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has honored his bet with Alberta Premier Danielle Smith following the recent Stanley Cup hockey game.
The Edmonton Oilers emerged victorious in the NHL Western Conference finals against the Dallas Stars and are now gearing up to face the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Finals.
“I lost a bet to the Alberta premier where I have to eat a steak from Alberta,” he said in a video attached to the social media post where the governor was sitting outside at a table, eating the meal.
“The best steak I’ve ever had from Canada. Must be from a cow raised in Texas,” he quipped.
Ms. Smith responded, saying “I hope you enjoyed that delicious Alberta beef. Thanks for being a great sport with our bet too!”
On May 21, Ms. Smith put out the challenge on social media as the Oilers prepared to meet the Stars in a playoff match.
