The Federal Government Allocates $10 Million to Support Anti-Antisemitism Programs
The federal government is injecting an additional $10 million into a program designed to assist community groups in combating violent extremism and antisemitism.
Official Languages Minister Rachel Bendayan announced at the National Forum on Combatting Antisemitism that this funding will support the Community Resilience Fund.
This funding will be utilized to finance security services at grassroots organizations and enhance staff awareness of early signs of extremism.
The Community Resilience Fund aims to support initiatives by non-profit organizations, educational institutions, other government levels, and police agencies.
Currently, the fund operates with an annual budget of $7 million.
Both Bendayan and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have observed a significant rise in antisemitic incidents in Canada following the October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel.
