Three Universities in Canada Named in Top 50 Schools Worldwide

Three Canadian universities are among the top 50 most prestigious schools in the world, according to a newly released global ranking.

The University of British Columbia (UBC) placed 36th while McGill University in Montreal came in 47th.

The rankings of universities across the globe are based on the results of an invitation-only opinion survey of senior, published academics.

The scholars are asked to name no more than 15 universities that they believe are the best for research and teaching in their respective fields.

The rankings, which are based primarily on prestige, also come with scores for research and teaching as well as an overall score.
