Tragic Bus Accident Takes Lives of 3 Brazilian Football Players
In Mexico City, a tragic accident occurred when a bus carrying a Brazilian football team overturned on a road south of Rio de Janeiro. The incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left at least six others injured, according to authorities.
Local media reports indicated that the three individuals who lost their lives were players from the American football team known as the Coritiba Crocodiles, hailing from the city of Curitiba in southern Brazil.
The team was en route to Rio de Janeiro on Saturday for a scheduled match in the national American football championship. However, the game was called off in light of the fatal crash. Images shared by local news outlets and on social media show the wrecked bus lying on its side in the middle of the road.
On Saturday, the Coritiba Crocodiles released a statement expressing their profound sorrow over the tragedy and requesting prayers and positive thoughts from the public. They stated, “In the midst of this heartbreaking event, our primary focus is on providing support to the team members and their families.”
The injured individuals are currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital, and authorities have committed to investigating the cause of the accident.
