Tragic Incident at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport: Person Fatally Injured in Plane Engine

An individual tragically passed away after getting caught in a running aircraft engine at Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport, as confirmed by Dutch airline KLM on Wednesday.

Earlier in the day, Dutch media had already reported on the incident while the Dutch military police, Marechaussee, mentioned in a tweet that they were currently conducting an investigation.

The identity of the individual has not been determined yet, according to a spokesperson from Marechaussee speaking with Reuters. They also stated that it was premature to label this as an “incident” or a possible suicide. Furthermore, the spokesperson mentioned that all passengers and crew on the plane, who are essential witnesses to the investigation, had safely disembarked.

KLM, a subsidiary of France-KLM, released a statement mentioning that they are actively conducting their own investigation into the matter.
