‘UN Approves the Adoption of the ‘Pact for the Future’
UNITED NATIONS—The United Nations General Assembly has officially approved a groundbreaking agreement called the “Pact for the Future,” according to U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres. He hailed the pact as a significant step towards a more efficient, inclusive, and interconnected multilateralism.
The adoption of the pact, along with an attached annex focusing on creating a responsible and sustainable digital future, occurred on the first day of a two-day Summit of the Future. The agreement was reached after nearly nine months of intense negotiations.
“We are here to revive multilateralism and prevent its potential collapse,” Guterres emphasized at the summit.
