US, UK, Germany advise against travel to Lebanon amid rising tensions with Israel
Multiple countries are advising their citizens to leave Lebanon amid escalating tensions between Israel and the Iran-backed Hezbollah.
The United States, the United Kingdom, and others are warning their citizens against traveling to Lebanon due to the heightened conflict.
The embassy highlighted that regional tensions are escalating and the Lebanese government may not be able to guarantee the safety of U.S. citizens in case of violence outbreaks.
Additionally, the Canadian government is recommending its citizens to leave Lebanon while commercial flights are operational, noting the volatile security situation due to ongoing clashes between Israel and Hezbollah.
Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong advised Australians to avoid Lebanon and cautioned that Beirut airport might close suddenly if the situation worsens.
The advisory warned that transportation out of Lebanon could be disrupted in case of escalation, with potential road closures across the country.

Mr. Kirby stated, “What we’re trying to do is prevent a second front from opening up. We’re trying to prevent an escalation of this conflict that would put the people of Israel and Lebanon at greater risk.”
These actions come in the midst of increased military activities involving Israel, Hezbollah, and other actors, with potential risks and uncertainties for the citizens of various countries.
