Tuesday’s Attack
“It was a significant attack,” Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder stated in response to Iran’s ballistic missile attack on Israel on Tuesday.
Ryder reported that nearly 200 missiles were launched into Israel, with two U.S. Navy destroyers firing interceptors at missiles believed to originate from Iran. No confirmation was available regarding the interception of these missiles at the time.
No U.S. personnel were harmed during the attack.
The missile attack on Tuesday heightened tensions between Israel and Iran-backed groups Hezbollah and Hamas.
Following the missile barrage, the Iranian Mission to the United Nations affirmed that Tehran has executed its response and cautioned against further Israeli actions.
