Western Premiers Finish their Annual Meetings in Whitehorse
Premiers from across Western Canada are concluding their meetings in Whitehorse on June 10 to discuss common concerns in the region.
The premiers of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, and Yukon gather annually for the Western Premiers’ Conference.
Before the conference, B.C. Premier David Eby highlighted infrastructure related to trade as a top item on the agenda.
Mr. Eby mentioned on June 7 that the time it takes to transport goods between provinces and territories impacts the cost of items for Canadians.
The leaders will also address topics such as health care, housing issues, and the necessary infrastructure for constructing new homes.
The premiers are expected to participate in a media availability session to mark the end of the conference on the afternoon of June 10.
