Where to View Canada Day 2024 Fireworks Across the Country

Canada’s 157th birthday is approaching, and one of the top ways to celebrate is with a spectacular fireworks display. Below are the locations where you can witness the best pyrotechnic shows in and around Canada’s major cities.

Toronto

The majority of daytime Canada Day events in Toronto will be held at Thomson Memorial Park and city museums. Additionally, there will be GTA park fireworks at Ashbridges Bay, Centennial Park (Etobicoke), and Milliken Park starting at 10 p.m.

Downsview Park in North York will also host a fireworks show on Canada Day, one of only two annual events in the community—the other being Victoria Day.

East York has planned its 68th annual fireworks celebration for Canada Day at Stan Wadlow Park. The fireworks display will begin at 10 p.m. after a day of family-filled fun.

Ottawa

In Canada’s Capital Region, the Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks show at LeBreton Flats Park will illuminate the sky from 10 p.m. to 10:15 p.m., with various viewing spots available around the park.

A family-friendly Canada Day celebration and fireworks show will also take place at Rideau Carleton Casino, featuring a performance by the Northern Pikes at 8 p.m. Over 2,500 people attended the casino’s Victoria Day fireworks, with organizers expecting more for Canada Day. Parking at the casino is free.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls will shine brightly with Canada Day fireworks starting at 10 p.m. The waterfalls will also be lit up in red and white to commemorate the nation’s big day.

Winnipeg’s Blue Bombers football team is promoting Canada Day celebrations at Princess Auto Stadium, featuring a free family event with a fireworks display at dusk.

Just northeast of Winnipeg, the community of Selkirk will host a Canada Day celebration along with fireworks, scheduled to start at 11 p.m.

Edmonton

Edmonton’s official Canada Day Fireworks will kick off at 11 p.m. in the River Valley over the North Saskatchewan River. Prime viewing spots include Queen Elizabeth Park, River Valley Road Trail, Victoria Park, and the west entrance to High Level Bridge on 109th Street.

Several other locations around the Edmonton area will hold fireworks displays to celebrate Canada’s birthday, including Mill Woods Park, Fort Saskatchewan, City of Leduc, City of St. Albert, and City of Spruce Grove, all starting at 11 p.m.

Calgary

Fireworks are tentatively scheduled for Canada Day around 11 p.m. at Stampede Park in Calgary. However, city officials are considering the impact of the current water shortage on the celebrations.

There are numerous locations outside of Calgary where individuals can enjoy fireworks displays, including Airdrie’s Chinook Winds Regional Park, Town of Cochrane, and Okotoks, among others.

Vancouver

While there won’t be a fireworks show at Canada Place in Vancouver to conclude Canada Day celebrations, several cities in the Lower Mainland will have pyrotechnic displays. Locations include Burnaby, Abbotsford, White Rock, Port Coquitlam, and a drone light show at Willoughby Community Park in the Township of Langley starting at 10:15 p.m.
