Within the span of 2 months, 10 Marxist Scholars Passed Away in China
Between Jan. 3 and March 2, at least ten Marxist theorists and professors in China passed away, including Jin Huiming, Xu Chongwen, and Cui Guitian. Jin Huiming, a member of the China Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and former director of the Theory Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)’s Propaganda Department, died on March 1 in Sanya City.
Xu Chongwen, an expert in the history of Marxist philosophy and a member of the CASS, passed away on Feb. 26 in Beijing. Cui Guitian, who directed the Institute of Contemporary Socialism at Shandong University, died on Feb. 20 in Jinan City.
Other notable individuals who recently passed away include Zhong Yuren, Cheng Youxin, Cheng Yunshang, Sun Shaohua, Zhang Mausheng, Zhang Hezeng, and Huang Xinjun, all retired professors in Marxist studies.
These individuals contributed significantly to Marxist philosophy and education in China, leaving behind a legacy. Richard Wurmbrand, a Romanian priest, also shed light on Karl Marx’s early affiliations with Satanism in his book “Marx and Satan.”
