Woman taken into custody following deaths of three care home residents in Swanage
A 60-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter by Dorset Police after a tragedy where carbon monoxide poisoning is suspected.
Three residents were found dead at a care home for elderly people in Swanage, leading to the arrest of the woman. The incident was reported at 7:16 a.m. on Wednesday at the Gainsborough Care Home on Ulwell Road in Swanage, with seven people taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Police are treating the deaths as unexplained, with carbon monoxide poisoning being investigated as the primary cause. The 60-year-old suspect remains in police custody, and the care home, which houses 48 elderly residents, is operated by Agincare.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Third stated that the arrest was made to gather information about the incident and investigate negligence. Dorset Police Chief Superintendent Heather Dixey assured the community that there is no wider danger.
