Rep. Burlison Urges Newsmax to Dispatch Sergeant-at-Arms to Apprehend Hunter Biden

Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., told Newsmax on Wednesday that Congress should “send the sergeant-at-arms after” Hunter Biden in addition to charging him with contempt for skipping a deposition after receiving a subpoena.

House Republicans subpoenaed Biden, son of President Joe Biden, for a closed-door deposition on Wednesday, which Hunter Biden refused to attend, instead giving a press conference near the Capitol building.

Burlison said on “Newsline” that “it’s not too surprising” that Biden refused to testify in a closed-door meeting, as requested in the subpoena, saying, “At some point in time this guy has to start following the law. He’s never followed the law his entire life and, sadly, he’s not following the law now.”

Burlison added: “The law requires him to appear for deposition, we have requested it, it’s not questionable whether or not he has to comply.

“Not only do I think we need to hold him in contempt, I think we should send the sergeant-at-arms after him. That’s an authority that Congress has … and he won’t have to go too far because he’s clearly in the city.”

Burlison went on to say that he’s “certainly going to make an appeal” to House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., “that we should be sending out the sergeant-at-arms” after Biden.
