Senator Lindsey Graham deserves praise for his unwavering support of Israel

Senator Lindsey Graham deserves applause for demonstrating that Israel still has faithful allies in Washington, despite President Biden freezing crucial military aid and displaying hostility towards the administration.

Recently, Graham introduced a resolution, co-sponsored by 47 other GOP senators, criticizing Biden’s decision and urging him to fulfill Israel’s military aid requests. This resolution aims to prevent the administration from using weapons as leverage and also compels Democrats to take a clear stance on supporting Israel or not.

Graham’s actions were followed by a direct questioning of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chair Gen. Charles Brown regarding the delay in arms shipments to Israel, emphasizing the significance of supporting Israel against its enemies.

Furthermore, in the House, Representative Beth Van Duyne introduced a bill requiring prompt transfer of certain weapons to Israel within 30 days of procurement.

Several Republicans, including Senators Ted Cruz, Tim Scott, Tom Cotton, and Joni Ernst, criticized Biden’s betrayal, with Graham warning Israel not to let the administration take control of the situation.

In addition, House Democrats and ex-president Donald Trump have also expressed support for Israel and condemned Biden’s actions.

It is disappointing that most New York Democrats have remained silent or even praised Biden’s decision, while only a few, like Reps. Ritchie Torres and Tom Suozzi, have spoken out against it.

The urgent question now is whether Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will support Graham’s resolution or uphold his reputation as Israel’s primary advocate in Congress.
