Trump Announces Plan to Stop Anti-Israel Protests

According to The Washington Post, former president Donald Trump informed donors that he would put an end to anti-Israel protests on college campuses by expelling foreign students from the United States.

During a round table with donors in New York on May 14, Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for the upcoming general election, referred to the on-campus demonstrations as part of a “radical revolution.”

At the event, Trump stated, “One thing I do is, any student that protests, I throw them out of the country. You know, there are a lot of foreign students. As soon as they hear that, they’re going to behave.” He went on to say, “If you get me elected, and you should really be doing this, if you get me reelected, we’re going to set that movement back 25 or 30 years.”

The former president praised the New York Police Department for removing protesters from the Columbia University campus. He emphasized the need for other cities to follow suit, stating that the protests “have to be stopped now.”

Addressing a group predominantly consisting of “98 percent of my Jewish friends,” Trump highlighted the pro-Israel measures implemented during his administration. These accomplishments included relocating the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem and acknowledging the Golan Heights, a territory Israel began occupying in 1967 during the Six-Day War.

Trump informed donors, “So I did Golan Heights. You know that’s worth $2 trillion, they said, that piece, if you put it in real estate terms. But it’s worth more than that. It is.”

He also expressed his support for Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas in Gaza, referring to it as “its war on terror.” Trump claimed that the Hamas attack on Israel on Oct. 7 would not have occurred if he were still in office.

The Republican Jewish Coalition recently announced a commitment to raise at least $5 million to aid Trump’s reelection campaign. This fundraising effort would be facilitated through donations to the group representing Jewish Republicans nationally, the RJC Victory Fund super PAC, as announced by the organization.

Karoline Leavitt, the campaign’s national press secretary, asserted in an email to The Washington Post, “When President Trump is back in the Oval Office, Israel will once again be protected, Iran will go back to being broke, terrorists will be hunted down, and the bloodshed will end.”
