Controversial Move to Crack Babies’ Backs Raises Concerns

Following the tragic death of a toddler due to undiagnosed blood cancer, an independent expert panel has been called in to review pediatric emergency care at a public hospital in Perth.
The toddler, Sandipan Dhar, passed away at Joondalup Health Campus on March 24, after developing a mild fever post vaccinations. Despite his parents requesting a blood test on March 22, a senior doctor at the hospital refused.
Ramsay Health Care, the private operator of the campus, has announced a review of pediatric emergency services on June 13. The review will be conducted by a panel of independent pediatric emergency specialists from the eastern states.
