Trump’s victory based on character, no need for environmental hysteria over spilled oil: analysis

Trump’s Potential Victory Through Character

Rich Lowry from The New York Times argues that focusing solely on the economy or campaign issues is inadequate when making a case against Kamala Harris. According to him, character is a crucial aspect in determining a candidate’s suitability for the presidency.

The argument should be made that Harris is weak, insincere, and lacks genuine concern for the country or the middle class.

Instead of scattered attacks, Trump should concentrate on highlighting these character attributes.

For example, pointing out Harris’s inability to engage in open town-hall events or extensive media interviews shows her weakness, and highlighting her opportunistic nature can make a compelling case against her.

There is ample opportunity for Trump to present his argument in his own style while emphasizing why Harris is unfit to be president.

Indifference to Oil Spills in the Middle East

Jim Geraghty from National Review criticizes the lack of response from environmental activists to the spill caused by Islamists in the Red Sea who have engaged in kidnapping, obstructing aid, and exacerbating cholera. Despite a weak call from the State Department for ceasing actions, there is a lack of policy deterrence and punishment for such attacks.

President Biden’s silence on the matter and his removal of the Iranian-backed Houthis from the list of global terrorist organizations raise concerns about his approach to this threat.

Dems’ Approach to Poverty

Allysia Finley of The Wall Street Journal notes the absence of entrepreneurs generating middle-class jobs at the Democratic National Convention, where the focus was on attacking oligarchs and monopolists. The Democrats’ plan, according to Finley, is to redistribute wealth by taxing success and expanding government, which goes against creating prosperity.

RFK Jr.’s Shift to Trump

The endorsement of Donald Trump by Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has surprised many in the Democratic establishment, as he felt that important issues were not being addressed within the Democratic Party. Despite his attempts to engage with the Kamala Harris campaign, he was rebuffed, leading to his decision to support Trump.

The Impending Inflation Crisis

Diana Furchtgott-Roth warns of potential inflation hikes and supply-chain disruptions, especially with the threat of a labor strike by the International Longshoremen’s Association. This strike could lead to significant economic impacts, driving up inflation and causing disruptions to the economy.
