This incident occurred on January 26th at approximately 2 a.m. outside the Dream nightclub in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where a male shooter approached the crowd and began discharging his weapon.
Surveillance footage captured the moment the security guard promptly sprang into action, raising his rifle and firing back while patrons took cover.
The guard reportedly returned fire with about two dozen rounds, ultimately striking the 24-year-old suspect, who was later apprehended after being treated at a local hospital.
The gunman received care for a non-life-threatening hand injury incurred during the shooting.
Joe Reed, the security head for the club, commented on the situation, indicating that he suspects the attack was premeditated.
“You could tell it was plotted,” Reed remarked. “The weapon was surrendered to the police. It was a swift response from our licensed security guard who did what was necessary to shield innocent lives.”
“If anyone thinks they can bring that nonsense here, they should know Dream security has zero tolerance,” he asserted.
This latest shooting followed an incident on December 1st when a 22-year-old was wounded due to gunfire within the bar during a confrontation.
The December event prompted the club to bolster its security protocols, which seemingly played a crucial role in averting mass casualties in the subsequent shooting.
