’24 Presidential Ticket Set by No Labels Party for Progress
The centrist group No Labels has announced plans to move forward with a 2024 presidential ticket, although they have not yet named any candidates for the ticket.
“Earlier today, I led a discussion with 800 No Labels delegates from all 50 states. These citizen leaders have engaged in extensive discussions about the type of leadership they want to see in the White House in 2024,” stated No Labels National Convention Chair Mike Rawlings.
Rawlings continued, “These individuals are some of the most civic-minded, thoughtful, and patriotic Americans I have ever met. They take their responsibility seriously. Despite our virtual meeting, their passion and commitment to uniting this divided nation was evident. I was uncertain about the direction No Labels delegates would take today, but they made it clear: we must keep moving forward.”
During the virtual meeting, No Labels’ 800 delegates from all 50 states voted overwhelmingly to proceed with the 2024 project and begin the process of identifying candidates for the Unity presidential ticket.
“Each delegate had their own reasons for supporting this decision,” Rawlings added.
Over the past few months, the No Labels staff have been carefully vetting potential delegates to ensure that individuals who support either Biden or Trump and aim to disrupt their efforts are filtered out. This vetting process highlights the delicate balance the group is trying to maintain between grassroots movement and organizational control.
No Labels officials reassured that they would only move forward if they believed they had a realistic chance of success and would not act as a “spoiler.” However, the decision made on Friday is unlikely to silence critics, especially Democrats, who argue that the party will not succeed and will only benefit Trump.
