Activists Interrupt Trump’s Speech in Freezing Iowa to Protest Against Global Warming
Global warming activists briefly interrupted the rally of former President Donald Trump on Sunday in Indianola, Iowa, while the state was experiencing record-low temperatures.
“Thank you, darling,” Trump responded to a young woman shouting at him during his rally, which aired live on Newsmax and simulcast on the Newsmax2 online streaming platform.
“Thank you. That’s all right. Go home to Mommy. Your mommy’s waiting.”
As the global warming activists were removed from the rally, Trump remarked seeing protests interrupting at his rally had not happened in years.
“It’s amazing because that used to happen all of the time, and I don’t think it’s happened in 2 1/2 or 3 years,” Trump said as the crowd drowned out the protest with chants of “USA! USA!” “That’s a fact. And she’s so young. So young. So young and immature.
“It always is excitement. I will say that.”
Trump said he supported peaceful protest as a staple of American democracy.
“That’s all right, that’s why we have America,” he said.
But Trump mocked the protesters shouting down oil and energy independence in the state of Iowa – and during record freezing temperatures – of all time and places.
“But they’ll figure it out,” Trump said. “You know they’re fighting oil. They’re fighting oil. They’re basically saying, ‘let’s close up our country,'” he continued. “Because, if you noticed, China is building, actually every week, a coal-fired plant and these people are fighting and you’re going to end up with a country that won’t be able to compete if you listen to them.”
The youthful ideology will eventually age out, Trump concluded.
“They’ll grow up; they’ll get older,” Trump said. “It’s very important what we’re doing. We speak from common sense. You know, we’re really the party of common sense.
“People say, ‘Are you conservative?’ Yes, I’m conservative. We did a lot of conservative things, but we’re really not liberal or conservative, we’re the party of common sense.”
