Angry Homeless Man Protests Closure of Boston Rec Center for Migrant Housing

A homeless, working man in Roxbury — one of Boston’s oldest communities — railed on Newsmax at the arrival of 400 migrants at a recreation center that’s used by a wide swath of poor and needy residents in the lower- to middle-class enclave.

The man, who wasn’t identified on “National Report,” paced and hollered at police at a meeting held in the wake of an announcement by Massachusetts Democrat Gov. Maura Healey — with the approval of Boston Mayor Michelle Woo — that the recreation center would be closed to the public until at least June, in order to harbor migrants.

“[I] can’t afford to live here, but you’re gonna bring some other m———— here. That doesn’t f—— add up. It doesn’t make no sense. None. None,” he yelled as a camera caught the outrage.

“I’m f—— homeless, I work a full-time job. Forty hours. I can’t pay to live here. How the f— you gonna bring somebody else here?”

Newsmax correspondent Cristina Thompson explained that some Roxbury residents use the rec center to shower their children, and that teens play there to stay out of trouble and to stay away from drugs.

Congressional GOP candidate Rob Burke filmed the video of the outraged Roxbury man — and shared his own outrage.

“I want every single, every Congress person, to look at this video and understand what this guy’s actually saying,” Burke said. “He’s expressing what everybody is saying in that area. Stop. Time out. Close the border. You have too many people here. We don’t need these people.”
