The Biden administration is reportedly auctioning off border wall materials in anticipation of President-elect Donald Trump’s administration, leading to criticism from lawmakers who accuse President Joe Biden of deliberately undermining the incoming administration.

Initial reports from The Daily Wire gained support from anonymous Border Patrol agents who voiced concerns over Biden’s sale of border wall panels that are being relocated from different areas of the southern border.
“They are taking it from three locations: Nogales, Tucson, and Three Points,” remarked the anonymous agent, estimating that about half a mile of unused border wall is being relocated daily.
“The objective is to remove all of it from the border before Christmas,” he further commented.
“When Trump returns and looks to restart the border wall project, the funding battle will arise again,” he asserted. “That’s their strategy. Trump will have to fight for this all over again.”
The materials, which Biden opted not to utilize after Trump’s first term, are reportedly being transferred to Arizona by DP Trucking, LLC, a government contractor.
“They started removing all the unused wall, which is still completely functional, and transporting it northbound,” the agent noted. “All of it is being taken off the border.”
The wall materials are then sold online through “GovPlanet,” a government auction platform specializing in military surplus, beginning the bidding at $5.
Republican lawmakers believe that approximately $300 million in taxpayer funds spent on the border wall have been squandered and left to deteriorate following Biden’s decision to halt its construction.
Meanwhile, Trump has pledged to resume his previous efforts as strengthening the southern border was crucial to his re-election campaign.
“The Biden Administration is fully aware that reversing the border wall construction was a mistake,” said Rep. Eli Crane (R-Ariz.).
“Should this be true, and they are intentionally obstructing an incoming president, it wouldn’t come as a surprise. Why would they want President Trump to succeed with policies they vehemently opposed?” he added.
“The American electorate granted President Trump a mandate in November, which included fulfilling his commitment to secure the border,” Crane emphasized. “Any last-minute efforts to hinder this mandate by the Biden Administration would be a direct challenge to the public’s wishes.”
Additionally, Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick (D-Texas) expressed his intent to bid on the auctioned border wall materials from the Biden Administration and subsequently donate them to the incoming Trump administration.
“I will bid on all available wall segments, and we will purchase them in Texas to donate to Donald Trump,” he stated. “I have a billion dollars allocated for this.”
Patrick made these remarks during an interview on Fox News, where he was asked for his thoughts regarding Biden’s auctions of the wall materials.
“This reflects their despicable behavior. What they’re doing is unacceptable to the American people, who obviously won’t stand for it—hence their recent electoral losses… We’ve been attempting to purchase this wall from them for four years, but they have consistently refused,” he added.
