Biden Dodges Question About Taylor Swift’s Endorsement with ‘That’s Classified’
President Joe Biden humorously addressed conspiracy theories linking him to pop star Taylor Swift during a recent appearance on a late-night show. When asked if Swift would endorse him in 2024, Biden jokingly replied, “that’s classified.”
During his appearance on NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Biden and Meyers discussed a poll showing that 18% of Americans believed in a conspiracy between the president and Swift. Biden responded to Meyers’ question about the alleged conspiracy by saying, “It’s classified.”
Biden highlighted that Swift endorsed him in 2020, which could be beneficial for his reelection campaign in 2024. When asked if Swift might endorse him again, Biden playfully repeated that it was classified.
The president’s appearance on the show aimed to appeal to younger audiences and address concerns about his age following a report questioning his memory and mental acuity. Biden, 81, compared himself to his likely opponent in 2024, former President Donald Trump, 77, who has also faced criticism for verbal mistakes.
Biden emphasized the differences between his policies and Trump’s, particularly on issues like abortion. While Biden supports women’s rights to abortion, Trump has taken pride in appointing justices who helped overturn the Roe v. Wade decision.
Referring to Trump’s desire to turn back the clock on certain issues, Biden remarked, “He wants to take us back on a whole range of issues.”
