Biden Playfully Remarks on Impeachment, Highlights Decline in Inflation

President Joe Biden joked about the possibility of being impeached during a speech in Maine. While discussing falling inflation rates and his economic policies, Biden mocked the idea that Republicans may have to find another issue to criticize him for now that inflation is decreasing. He said, “Maybe they’ll decide to impeach me because it’s coming down. I don’t know. I love that one.” Inflation has dropped by 9.1% since June 2022, now sitting at 3% this month compared to the 1.4% rate when Biden took office. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy recently suggested that Republican lawmakers may consider an impeachment inquiry against Biden regarding claims of financial misconduct by the Biden family. Biden acknowledged that there is still work to be done on the economy and emphasized his plans for restoring the American dream, which he referred to as “Bidenomics.”
