Bob Good tells Newsmax: Antisemitism on the Rise Since Congressional Hearing

Rep. Bob Good, R-Va., shared with Newsmax on Monday that there has been a rise in antisemitism across the country since Congress addressed the issue in relation to President Joe Biden’s stance on Israel, the Hamas attack, and illegal immigration.

Over the weekend, more than a dozen individuals were arrested at Columbia University for protesting the school’s position on Israel and calling for a ceasefire in the ongoing conflict with Hamas.

Speaking on “Wake Up America,” Good, a member of the House Education and Labor Committee, addressed recent protests at Columbia University regarding the situation in Israel. This comes after the university announced that classes during Passover would be conducted virtually to reduce tensions and allow for further deliberation on the matter, as stated by Columbia President Minouche Shafik.

Good mentioned his participation in a congressional hearing on allegations of antisemitism at Columbia University, expressing concern over the pervasive support for antisemitism on college campuses. He highlighted the lack of satisfactory responses from the university’s president, noting that the issue has only intensified since the hearing.

Attributing the rise in protests against Israel to President Biden’s response to the Hamas attack and his perceived inadequate support for Israel, Good also pointed to illegal immigration as a contributing factor. He criticized Biden’s response as “tepid, benign, [and] vanilla,” emphasizing the impact of changing demographics and worldviews among immigrants on societal dynamics.
