Dick Morris Tells Newsmax: Trump and Biden Have Been Neck and Neck for Years
Political analyst Dick Morris discussed a recent Marist poll on Newsmax, stating that he is not surprised by the poll’s findings that show a competitive matchup between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden. Morris believes that the race between Biden and Trump has been tied, with a slight edge to Trump, since the Afghan withdrawal. The Marist poll shows Biden leading Trump by one point among registered voters nationally, but Trump has an 8-point lead among independents. Morris also mentions that both candidates have limited room for movement in the 2024 race for the White House, as voters on each side are firmly entrenched in their support. The poll also found that 29% of Americans, including 43% of Republicans, believe Trump has done something unethical but not illegal, while 22% believe he has done nothing wrong, including 44% of Republicans. Biden’s approval rating fell to 48% after the botched U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan.
