First Lady Jill Biden Omitting Israel from Mideast Tour
Reports indicate that first lady Jill Biden will be visiting Egypt and northern Africa on her upcoming trip to the Middle East in late spring, with Israel being notably excluded from the itinerary.
The White House’s office of the first lady did not provide a reason for the exclusion of Israel while mentioning visits to Egypt and Jordan, as reported by 7 Israel National News.
The trip, scheduled for May 30-June 5, will include stops in Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, and Portugal, with a focus on strengthening partnerships and advancing shared priorities in the region, as well as empowering youth worldwide.
“As first lady, this will be Dr. Biden’s second visit to the African continent and her first visit to the Middle East,” the press release noted.
