General Wesley Clark Tells Newsmax: Ukraine Demonstrates Courage Similar to US on D-Day

Retired U.S. Army Gen. Wesley Clark praised Ukraine for its “incredible courage and resilience in the face of the Russian onslaught” in response to President Joe Biden’s commitment to support the country against Russia.

Clark, speaking to Newsmax‘s “National Report,” said, “The president is strongly supporting the Ukrainians. He wants to see Ukraine whole and free and ensure that Russia cannot repeat its actions.”

During a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Biden emphasized the importance of not surrendering to bullies and dictators, stating, “Aggression cannot be rewarded.”

Clark highlighted the need for Putin to learn this lesson and acknowledged the Ukrainian forces’ fight for their country’s survival against untrained Russian forces, likening it to World War II.

The 80th anniversary celebrations in Normandy honor the bravery of the soldiers who fought in the invasion and Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower’s leadership, which Clark described as taking on a significant burden during a critical moment in history.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by D-Day military personnel, Clark noted their courage and exemplary training, emphasizing their readiness despite the chaotic and stressful circumstances.
